It's good to see them being made, and the prices seem to have come down, but charging £200 for a limited choice of colour is not my understanding of the word bespoke.

"Look at my bespoke Focus. It's black."

Well FWIW, I quite like that blue colour, and could quite see it going well on an RS300, which also looks like good value at that price... and to think we used to have a fleet of them at Draycote, it's a shame, a damn shame.

I think this must be great news for the classes, as I'm sure the 4 boats limit must have been killing sales. Now if only they would improve the rig on the 300...at my weight it is just too flexible in the lower half...then I might be interested.

Well, OED apparently defines bespoke as "made to order", and they're being made to order with about all the options that are available with a SMOD. Its certainly more like bespoke that your car dealer ringing round his mates to see who's got a new Focus in the particular colour choice you want.

On the other hand its really not quite on the same plane as giving Bloodaxe or Razorback Boats a detailed email with all the rig positions and all the other variable you want on your new International Canoe...

It's not me building them on the Isle of wight ;-)
Maybe PJ is building them again.
It's a kind of tradition in the development classes I've sailed, that every boat has to be a different colour. Moths have gone a bit black carbon weave recently, but there's still some bright colours.
It makes it much more interesting for spectators.
Acrylic 2 pack car paint comes in an enormous number of colours - if you go to a paint shop, each manufacturer has several books of colour cards.
My moth is Mazda spirited green metallic

I struggle to get my mind round acrylic paint on boats preferring enamel or cellulose which is difficult to get these days. Is it really OK?

hi all
Just a quick update on this subject,  we are very pleased to be working with Ian Teasdale and Kevin Driver at "The Boatyard at Beer" to build the RS300, RS600 and  RS700.
As many of you know they have vast experience in manufacturing other classes at a very high standard, also Ian has had experience in manufacturing the Rs300,600 and 700 for many years before hand.
Any questions please feel free to e-mail me.
Many thanks

Alex

Thanks for the answer- a quality builder, good rep! But surely they've got a lot more pigments than that in stock? LOL

That had been the case unfortunately but RS have said for some time they will make one whenever someone orders one. Actually they will make 3, sell 1, keep 2 in stock.
