You must of porked up since last time i saw you Matt?  I would of said you would of been fairly spot on for a Solo on open water.  I think Matt Howard was about 92kg last time he won the nationals and he was looking ripped at the D-one nationals recently.  I found that a t 95kg (my heavist in the Solo) i could hold my own in most conditions other than marginal planing, where the lighter boys would destroy me off wind.

planing in solo is when the water jumps out the way for fear of being bludgeoned....hence why there is some much spray in a windy solo shot ;-)

I thought it was when you ran over a trout or something... the motion of the boat sliding down its back is akin to planing on a faster boat.

Is that how iGRF's wetsuit got split?  Was he run over by a, pretending to plane, Solo?

Are you saying iGRF was bracing himself for being ridden by a solo?  Or are you calling him a trout ;-)

I seem to recall it was (blissfully) Solo free at the FOM.  I can't wait for next year, when I again beat iGRF over the water and he has all that ammunition to get vocal about how my boat is total bandit, that really will be water off a duck, or trout's back...

btw- Neptune, watch your verbs matey... that reads very, very wrong.  Dead Ouch Cry Dead

My wetsuit split due to an auto destruct feature inbuilt into any windsurfers suit who spends too much time in the company of dinghy sailors.

Indeed what happened I had to bend over in front of an entire sailing club full of them, whereupon the suit was so overwhelmed with a desire to 'moon' them as is standard practise, the auto expose feature cut in, bringing sunshine bursting forth onto the scene from the exposed seam. It was only sheer luck that pond monkey inadvertently shielded the spectacle from all as he staggered and fumbled about wrestling with the controls of his video camera..

I count myself among the lucky ones who didn't witness the, er, incident Shocked  Please don't do it again next year or you might get 69 thrown at you at next year's FOM  Smile
