I did wonder if it was Rodney doing some jedi mind trick on me.... I should have come away full two-barrels-loaded to give that 'old finn' a damn good flaming first thing monday morning, sadly I came away wanting one and frankly a little sad in the knowledge that my club used to have 50 of them racing regularly back in the day.

Well I'm sure it was because of the tinfoil lined helmet that I was one of the few not to get a ride in a D1 or Finn, that or fear of what I might write about them of course.

It also deflected annoying calls for water by Icons at the top mark..

They are even better though than Broxbourne ones as they go right over the clubhouse.

When asking for food at the galley don't be too surprised if you think you hear them asking if you want to be fried with that. Putting up masts can be a shocking experience

Indeed! When rigging my 2 for the first time at the 'Bug' I couldn't figure out why the shrouds felt prickly. I initially thought that rubbing whilst towing had caused tiny 'splinters' of wire somehow. It was only when I looked up, and saw the powerlines right overhead that I twigged...

You are so lucky Smile   Just think about how many words you would have to eat.  Have you really got the appetite for that? LOL

I do too... but I'll tell you what I told him; I'm in, no sales pitch needed, now go away and convince 15 others to join me at my club...  LOL

The thing that did amaze me has how anyone could make an RS100 go faster than a D1. In my world of me in an EPS against me in an RS100 against me in a Blaze against what I reckon me would have done in that D1 and lets face it could I have sailed it slower than some of those muppets that were in it, having a little doze on the second rank of the start line and only getting woken up by the gun...

The D1 is noticeably quicker than any of the other three over the water.

Firstly they would probably need to hike harder.

Secondly they'd probably need to have some very big downwind sections where the 100 really excels.

Thirdly, they might, just might, need to be better with a wiggle stick and two bits of rope controlling two sails than the bloke in the D-One who's got the sheets in a pickle and accidentally goose-winged himself when he went to drop the kite.

Given this scenario, then I think it's totally feasible for a 100 to be faster across the water than a Devoti One.

So you reckon in a drag race, mano y mano the RS would take a D1? I find that hard to believe.
