The course etc isn't an issue I firmly believe the 100 is a RTC boat too ;)
In doing the circuit I don't get enough away passes to do something else, so having it a bit closer would be good

We will be there next year in an Icon again - can't be that light/fluky twice .. no surely not !  We had a great weekend regardless.

However if we get that sort of wind again both I and 'Andy - The Dancing Farmer' will both switch into a little something we are working on currently  ... not quite as fast as a Dan's Punk so maybe we will be asking for a PN of ... well we think 1055 should be OK  !   Wink

Alex why not next year, dont be such a pussy! you will enjoy it.  Dan Halmos showed you can get a fast boat round and score a good result!  He got a second in the D1

sounds good Rodney, thought it would be a shame to ditch Broxbourne after they helped us out in quite a big way this year, after all its the spiritual home of the forumites open now
Everything I say is my opinion, honest

With 29 votes for Broxbourne and an entry last weekend of 24 (21 boats racing) I am planning to ask them to run the FOM next year.  That way we know that we are in safe hands and going somewhere where people understand us (even if we don't).  For those with 18 ft Skiffs or AC72s and the like, who would rather not bring their speed machines, we can arrange for the use of more suitable boats for the weekend.  I would hate to exclude anyone so this looks like a sensible option.

In the longer term my thoughts are to go to Broxbourne on alternate years giving us the chance to enjoy other venues.  I am thinking Burton for 2014 as the club is very friendly and the pond is bigger.

Please try to remember that this event is for fun and a good time for all both on and off the water so, to some extent, we need close racing.

Bar, galley, changing rooms, best showers ever, proper club not a commercial centre.  Bear it in mind.

On my list  Wink

I sailed there last year and parked my Pikey overlooking the water.  Had to race the anglers across the pond to our start line  LOL
