Rocky you're right about Broxbourne and I think Jimbo is right too. So what we are looking for is a small bit of water with trees all around so we can admire the view. Must also annoy fast boats because they have all the fun at the big events that us in smaller stuff can't.

That might bring in places light Upton Warren or spinnaker (though a bit too far south)
Everything I say is my opinion, honest

That sounds just like our very own little pond Ian, although the lack of a bar might be an issue for some? or maybe all?

Rodney,

I'd like to echo the Hollowell suggestion very strongly.

An incredibly friendly club, well organised, a cosy small to average size of water with trees around some parts, but importantly with a huge and very easy launching area i.e. gentle shallows along quite a length of shore ..... plus of course champion Optimist sailors as well (... that'll be Arran!)

Seems they have just been voted Club of the Year - so not really surprised at that.

Chris

No camping, no bar, too far west, not ideal me thinks otherwise perfect and I'm sure the club would have us too.

cheers Maxi.

Bowmoor is about broxborne size and doesn't have a bar.  So i wouldn't recommend it.  South Cerney would be better or Whitefriars.  Which would be close on the borders of South west and east.

What about Chew ??

cvrda nationals this year were at Bough Beech - that ticks all the boxes.  medium sized piece of water, camping, friendly, good bar and food.
the same, but different...

But the wrong side of London, Nessa.

I'd say Northampton would be ace. Done British Moth and Lightning Nats there - big water, but a small club feel, and an excellent bar.
