Woke up this morning and the car was completely frozen - thought of you all camping - and laughed...

Sounds like a missed a good party. Ah, well, I'll get better organized for next year. Can it be further west, please?!

Classic Weekend, old school race and rear up, thanks Rodders well done, I learned such a lot.

In no particular order.

1)I've still got a lot to learn, without doubt I am the worse dinghy sailor it is possible to be and be called a dinghy sailor, which is just as well that I still consider myself a windsurfer who's trying to learn to sail sitting down with top and stuff.

2)Don't go to an event like that without a nice crispy new sail if you're worried about doing well.

3)18 yr old kids are difficult to beat if you're in the same boat as them we pretty much tied, but what a close race we had, very good stuff it all went to the last race, didn't realise that discards don't count in a tie break these days.

4)The EPS yardstick is off and it needs a different sail for those conditions.

5)My alcohol tolerance is as rusty as my memory of sailing rules.

6)There are lots of very good sailors posting here and pretending their not.

7)Sailing in such close quarters with so many boats, most of them quicker than you sucks, but you do learn an incredible amount of new things you still have to learn.

8)Dan Holman is one of those tediously clever modest fellows, not only has he designed a great boat, he can bloody sail it like the very wind, even when there's no wind definitely man of the match even winning over the water, being that good is now my target, it may never happen but everyone needs a goal.

9) Russ & Mark took the fact I'd beaten them very well.

10) Results can be changed after they've been posted.

So all in all the best dinghy event I've been to so far, it was what I imagined they would be like, they're not, this was a bit special sailing with friends you may be physically meeting for the first time but feel like you've known for ever. Sailing, drinking, bantering on and off the water, a great time.

Oh there was just one other point, I was traumatised to have it announced that my wetsuit had split down the butt, exposing Lord knows what horrors a hairy arsed fella wearing it commando might be exposing to the assembled sailing club.

Not that it comes as any surprise Pondmonkey is looking at mens bottoms a lot, bad enough he's looking, worse he's then following a chap about with a video camera as he's about to bend down putting his boat away.

Bicuriosity totally revealed.

Great weekend ..... even with the fickle breeze from hell that was all we got !   Well done to all others who pitched up there and especialy those who organised it  ...  may it be the first forumites event of many ....  CU all next year etc.

Now back to the serious business of being keyboard anarchists .... we were all far far too nice to each other over the weekend and we must now remember to return to more 'traditional' banter asap (aka insulting each other and seeing who rises to the more provocative missives !).
