And if Dan turns up in his Punk, well the name sys it all really. The anarchic, rule-defying attitude deserves a pre-emptive strike - say 930?

I should bring my Long Raceboard, with its' Cuben Fibre Main on a carbon mast with an all up weight of 25 kgs and demonstrate 'sailing in its purest form' by lapping every boat on the water, putting it away and having a shower before the first boat finishes.

There are showers I trust? We don't have to stand naked in a metal bath in front of a coal fire do we, now the CVRDA are coming?

Or worse still be somewhere people actually still camp in tents?

you need a tent graeme... the final trial on this miserable pathway towards the true home of competitive sailing.

All you're forgetting from the holistic experience is to bring your wife and kids... nothing like the journey home listening to them whinge about how bored they were, how they'd never eat anything served from a 'galley'- ever and above all, what a bunch of t**sers those dinghy sailors all are....  you'll fit right in.

Last time I slept in a tent I woke up next to a dead sheep.

What had you done to it?

Rodney, (and timing person!) I've been sailing the Minisail off 1225 at Whitefriars, and getting roughly the same results as in the Lightning, but worse than in the Firefly. Mind, I've never raced the GRP boat, which is a bit different to the wooden one.

In light winds the wooden one gets nowhere near handicap - in a blow is way better - sort of like a British Moth in exact reverse... the GRP one has a less extreme hull form, so might be less of a one trick pony.

If you want to knock a few points off for the unknowness of it all, feel free.

Boy scouts fifty years ago, had probably been buggered to death elsewhere in the campsite and dumped in my tent.
