Possibly Ian.  In those conditions the way I would be sailing it today (that photo was in June) would be with the jib in slightly and the main eased a bit further. The boat would be flatter and it then just seems to power through the waves.  Very satisfying.

It looks a few degress off close hauled to me (?), so pole v. useful.

That is not what the icon is about - it is simple, light, efficient. Between the dangly pole and adjustable (off the water) tack height, you get plenty of leech control. It's not necessary, but the jib track pads are big enough to fit the tracks longitudinally rather than transversely if you want to spec it that way (subject to class rules allowing it). When do you get yours TR? Will it be white, or a jazzy central European colour scheme?

She (ROXIE) has an uncertain delivery date, will ring Rodney next job. In theory the deck is Cambridge blue, I thought it would go well with the red on the sails. If she is badly delayed, Lesley (constant crew) is going to design something extreme, it is what she does for a job. I dread  the phone ringing and 03 going back to her owner, if it happens I will hopefully get another demonstrator. I really don't want to go back to the Finn, I enjoy the Icon and the company in the boat. It is such a learning curve I don't see anything other than back marking at the forumites event, but we need to get those miles on the clock!
