Second D-one Nationals are next weekend at lymington Town SC.  If anyone is in the area and would like to test sail a D-one please come and find me.  Nick Craig is running a class training day on the Friday, with racing on the Saturday and Sunday.  But we will certainly find time to get you out in boat for an hour or so.  Failing that there will be 3 D-ones competing in the Forumite regatta and forum regulars will be EXPECTED to take one for a blast Wink

Hi ALL

Tim came to our regatta and we wore him out with a short all in race followed by a gentle 2 hour race in force 4 with some fine Lee on Solent waves for up and downwind fun. Then fed him with Britain's best sailing fodder of Bacon Butties followed up with home made cakes.
Have great time at Lymington next weekend and hopefully we can agree for you all to come to our Regatta next year.
Cheers

How many boats are you expecting/ hoping for?  I shall be there in the Musto for the open.

Not entirely sure Neptune, we have had some drop out of late.  I would say similar number to last year, but with very few charter boats this time.  This is mainly down to lack of availability in Europe (long story)

Do you fancy taking one for a spin?

we'll see how tired I am after 4 races on Saturday, but I could be tempted.

Some of the closest racing i have ever sampled.  One tiny mistake and you lose 2 or 3 places.  Given the number of mistakes i make!  Quality of racing was fantastic.

LTSC ran the event like clock work, the race management was really slick.  No waiting around between races.  Top race officer.

Also thanks to Sue and Rodney at Suntouched for all their hard work.  Not forgeting Jon 'Hamster' Hammond and Tim El Presidente.  for making it all happen.  Race 4 on Sunday in 20 knots was mental, those solent lumps make it very tricky.

We found 20 knots at North Head Buoy (on the other side of Hurst from Lymington) and wrapped our kite around the forestay. Not very prettyespecially as we only had 2 people on board.

Must have been fun in the D1s.

One thing is for sure i need to get some practice in sailing downwind in short steep chop.  Upwind no problems, downhill....I struggled.
