There is a handy way of being kind to people, including those hurting after a disappointment, you can always not immediately shove a microphone in their faces and ask them inane questions...

Forgive me if this has been pointed out already (I'd be amazed if it hasn't), but Rob Walker provided an entertaining moment on the Nothe when he interrupted the manic celebrations of a bunch of supporters of a female Belgian Laser sailer (I think it was the Laser event in midweek) who had just finished in a medal position. He innocently enquired how they were feeling and, shoving the mike towards them, received the perfectly delivered reply, "F**king great!" Not content with that, he followed up with a similar question and got exactly the same reply, only louder! Several minutes of apologies followed!

Great quote today on the BBC, "we can all look forward to the paramilitary games in a few days time"

Personally I am looking forward to see what events they will stage for this.

I have been quite vocal in my disappointment at the sailing commentating. But having read the last 8 pages, and multiple Facebook posts, I am clearly not alone.

Odd the boxing doesn't dumbdown (where the commentary both on TV and radio has been top notch) - is 'southpaw' any more obscure than 'port'?.
Like some other things - sailing is more enjoyable when you do it with someone else
