Oh and the penalty/handicap system, I've worked something out that's totally fair and will work perfectly alongside the existing PY system.

So simple, it's based on physics and leverage.

Height, Take 1 PY pt per millimetre over the defined average sailing height of 1.7 mtrs
Weight, Take additional 1 PY pt per gramme over 70kgs
Age, Take additional 1 PY pt per month over 35 yrs.

That seems fair to me..

Not sure that's what you intended?

I am 1.75 Metres, 120 Kilos and 95 years old give or take a bit.  How does that calculate?  Not sure what the Finn PY is but let's say 1062??? I'm sure someone will know  Smile

I need encouraging not discouraging  Ouch

The way I have sailed this year even James would have beaten me  Wink

unlikely... I haven't set foot in a dinghy since I flogged the 100 in March last year.  Well not one that actually floats when you step over the back anyway  LOL

That being said, I don't think I've forgotten enough for Fuller to beat me yet, things aren't that bad.

Mike L and Peaky, Can you please sound out your clubs and establish whether they would be prepared to host this event?  Proposed date is 13/14 October with a late morning (perhaps early afternoon) start on the Saturday, dinner/bar on the Saturday evening and an early start (perhaps 10.00 a.m.) on Sunday to allow everyone to get on the road home at a sensible time.  Say 4-5 short BTB races each day of 30-45 minutes duration.
