Don't forget your nutritionist TR, can I recommend Pondmonkey? He can do wonders with an old tin can and pastry filled with WW2 ration meat.

You already have a 10% penalty (G.R.F. says, as you are a youngster, it should be 20%, or is it 30%?) but bringing your trainer will attract a further penalty of 10%.

The nutritionist recommends brandy and babycham in the drinks bottles for between race refreshment, drink of the gods!

I only work for lost causes and hapless fools..... I'm thinking of buying up the RS:X fleet now they're going for a song; they'd make an interesting team racing outfit to lease out to inland puddles on their 'Regatta Days'.

I bought an RSX once, sailed one race with it, then sold it immediately, the heaviest rig that ever pulled me off balance just by swinging it round in a gybe, then the requirement for a launch and recovery crane was beyond my pocket at the time, so I took up dinghy sailing instead, much more sedate those MPS's look thought I... Oh and the penalty/handicap system, I've worked something out that's totally fair and will work perfectly alongside the existing PY system.

So simple, it's based on physics and leverage.

Height, Take 1 PY pt per millimetre over the defined average sailing height of 1.7 mtrs
Weight, Take additional 1 PY pt per gramme over 70kgs
Age, Take additional 1 PY pt per month over 35 yrs.

That seems fair to me..

70kg.... pretty optimum for inland sailing in most boats.  I actually think you should add PY points for extra weight.  Sailing's no longer got 'big guys' classes.  Even the Phantom with its flat sails and bendy masts can suit the skinny 85kg chap.

Oh and I've had another idea, if you're leading overnight you have to wear a T shirt with your forum I.D. on it, ha, that should discourage Rodney LOL
