Weather report for the weekend looks pants for the test sail. So regrettabley I think it is best to cancel it. I'll let people know when I can arrange another day at BSC.

Looking at your videos it stuck me that comparing her to the Contender was a little basic- actually a Phantom with a wire might be more appropriate for bigger fellas!

'Coming up to Draycote' ...
I'll work on the Draycote crowd and get back. We have an Open Day in June. Although I'm planning at being at a Blithfield Open, it might be a good opportunity. Gill Pearson, the organiser has a son and a daughter who are both light and good sailors. Who knows, perhaps I could lend Gill my harness!

There's no shortage of boats to race against at Draycote in the handicap fleet, what the place needs is more fleet racing- ideally a single hander for someone looking for a bit more performance than a Laser.

TBH- I almost bought a Solo this week, but just couldn't do it, not yet anyway.

Often seems to me that there's a strong case for test sailing a boat in consitions that are lousy for it. After all most boats are good when the conditions are good. f you enjoy sailing it when the consitions are pretty ropey then that's a real credit... trouble is of course there are one or two people in this world who will form their judgement of how good a boat is in normal conditions based on what its like when its dreadful.
Maybe one should supply a control so that the punters go out in something else as well and get a feel for how awful the weather really is...
The other thing that occurs to me is whether it would be worth organising a reserve list fot trials days, and offer people slots there, and hope to slot them in in the unlikely event all of the primaries do show up...
