I loved those spinlock cleat on my Phantom, but to be honest they didn't work so great on the 300...

the Phantom were mounted horizontally, whereas the 300 is at an angle- not sure if this is what made a difference, but certainly they were to fiddly from the back corner of the 3, and I would be concerned about trying to operate them from the back corner of a wired boat like a 3.7 or Contender... but hey, they look great and who knows, might work so no harm in experimenting.

I'm a big fan of those cleats, especially for spinnaker halyards- I even had one on my Musto Skiff, but the Harken Sponsored class association deemed it to be a 'clutch' not a cleat, and despite the holes lining up as per class rules, informed me it breached class rules.... SMODs you've gotta love 'em.

Maybe this eponymous dinghy thing deserves it's own thread now? It might just be constituting a bit of a Hijack of the Farr 3.7 thread. ;)

Wouldn't say they were really better than a good cam cleat, but certainly neater.

Definitely a cleat not a clutch.  Thought the Mustos were quite forward looking compared to (say) the lasers.

I think the clutch idea was more an excuse as it wasn't Harken. As the class is sponsored by Harken- probably the right thing to do.
