It is a pleasure to watch skilled sailors sail a boat, as the girls have been doing. The gybes and tacks looked superb, I would guess they have been sailing together a lot, to get the coordination, between each other.

AFAIK the sailors had never been in a boat together before that session. The crew (I think) is Steffi Orton, current 29er National Youth Squad crew, and I have no idea who the helm is but it definitely isn't her regular one.

Helm is Frances Peters (my daughter), crew in the upwind (rainy day) was Steffi Orton, the crew in the downwind bit and all the publicity photos is Nicola Groves.
Frances and Nicola have been in an 800 together as part of the RYA programme since the early summer. They have been the sailors most involved in the 900 development, weighing, on the light side, at around 115kg. (target 110-130kg).

Superficially so, but the underwater hull form is very different and the deck is actually much cleaner than the 49er with cleverly integrated wings. In the flesh I thought they looked quite different.
