Well the Young'un had a great day and loved the event.....he was gutted to find out that he was OCS in the first race, with a 12th in the second, as he felt he'd gone better in the first.  He felt even worse when I pointed out that 2 x 12th places would have made him 9th(ish) overall! LOL
Not bad for a 13 yr old in a 4.7!

As above, huge thanks to all at Grafham for running such a slick operation - it IS massively appreciated by us travellers. Clap Clap Clap

It was a great event, if a little cold! I think we've been spoiled with the weather and now it's showing us what winter is supposed to be like.
No results up yet but from what I remember, Dan Henderson and George Hand in a 49er won the fast handicap, Sam Mettam and Richard Anterton won the medium handicap in a Fireball, and Ben Saxton and ??? won the slow handicap, sorry I can't remember the winners of the cats and singlehanders (although it was a Laser)

Who won in each handicap? Glad it was a good event, hopefully will be there next year.

Spot on Chris i agree completely.  I have had a great days sailing, even if my results probably don't do my grin justice.  Thanks Grafham.

Big thanks to the club and the race committee.

Hi Mark

I would not be racing this year anyway in either class we build but I believe the Blaze CA technical officer has or is making less public direct enquires already - he may well be at Grafham.   The GGP has always been a good event in the past in my experience and I'm sure will well supported tomorrow but this is a significant change.

It bears repeating that simply seeking additional explanation and data however is not ill-considered criticism as some seem to assume.   Systems of any kind that are open to full scrutiny tend to be resiliant over time and more fully and widely supported.   In this instance some of the 'grass roots' mid-fleet have posed what many think are reasonable questions and these are now ones that should be addressed.

Well this thread is really selling it... Drove past Huntingdon today and saw the sign for Grafham, it reminded me of the GGP last year, it was the best event I did. f**k knows where I came, like 99.9% I was never in with a chance anyway, but the sailing, courses, racing and OTW attitude was excellent.

Mike

As Chris said - have you actually contacted Andrew or any of the other SailJuice PY group directly yet? I'm sure they would be happy to provide the information you want if you approach them in a positive manner.

Mark
