Happy Christmas [hic]
Attempted to work off some Christmas excess today with our club pursuit. Unfortunatley the split ring on my mainsheet ratchet block decided it didnt want to stay attached to the pin and about 15 seconds after the start the pin decided to part company with the rest of the boat. I think that must be a record for the least amount of racing ever! Tried to carry on but the ratchet block ended up at the boom and jammed the mainsheet solid somehow. Race was won by some flippin good sailors in a 470 who handed it to us all and were leading after about 20 minutes in a 100minute pursuit race - in front of some very good guys too! Nice one guys. Staggering.... |

Sadly of course, you don't mean we were leading a pursuit after 30 minutes, but that disaster struck after that time. Still, unbowed I shall attempt to humiliate myself at the Bloody Mary in a couple of weeks.
