A bit of an adventure, I think I would use a different boat though.

That is fantastic! Some wonderful footage of 18ft Skiffs in 1960 - those spinnakers are insanely large...launched from a little bag all tied up with wool, and they clip the halyards and sheets on/off every leg! Spinny pole is made in two pieces, each of which is still longer than the boom they are stored along. Wonderful to see.

Fantastic! If I could do it all over again that would be on my list.

But is it really not a good boat for the purpose? A Wayfarer would probably be too heavy for a single hander, a Laser I a cramped nightmare, a Contender - no thanks, a Dart 16 would be like lying in an upside down shower all day, a foiling moth - well interesting, but fit for purpose? Maybe not such a bad choice?

I'm guessing here but on some days he must of done 100+ kilometers,  If he was on a deadline then a good choice for him. At my age though I would prefer a more comfortable boat for that distance...perhaps something with a fridge Wink

nice capsize at 1:20. Thought 4000's were a bit slow, then realised that it was a slo-mo thinghy, nicely shot
Everything I say is my opinion, honest
