Ooh, does that mean Ovington are less confident about the XX, or are they backing two projects by different designers to hedge their bets?

Rather pretty!

Fair point!!! Never occurred to me... This boat does look better, although, not the best name in the world, maybe Laura, would be better...

I really don't want to be the man hoisting the gennaker each time soaking wet.

It's ok, it's a women's skiff, you won't have to!
Needs to sail more...

Oh dear, a 'fashionable' dreadnought bow nicked from powerboats, I wonder if the designer has really worked out the effect on a monohull in waves. Would love to see it upwind in a 'wind over tide' solent chop - I think you might need to be a submariner.

If they really went box rule, then it would be more scow shaped like GRF's beast. Good boats just look right and this Aura doesn't look great despite the fashionable colour and graphics.

RS900 however looks the business IMHO

As pointed out above Ovi's were pushing the xx weren't they? Seems a bit of a late change of horse or is the xx abandoned?

it's all out aimed for visual appeal... fit birds in tight lycra, lots of spray, sexy looking boat, close proximity 'team work' ... who said sailing was being dumbed down to a base level?

women's skiff sailing in Rio... it's going to be the new 'beach volleyball'.

I've seen bows like that on both A Class caamarans and International Canoes.

Also depends on tide thickness, it's very important!
