Medal races will be on the Nothe course area (shown in this plan - http://www.portland-port.co.uk/about_the_port/statutory_harbour_authority/regulation/documents/Figure3NRANMPzoom.pdf). This course area will also in use for non-medal races on all other competition days.

I think I'll spend £55 on a pair of really good binos.

I do know someone who owns a yacht in the Marina though, I take it the blue line is the "passage" way?

I think I'm going to take a stab at getting 49er medal race tickets and then spend the rest of the fortnight sat on the hill just around the corner.

Well there you go you get to sit on a grass bank with a big screen and comentary well away from the competitors.

edit: And it's on the RYA website only 7 days after they said it would be. Looks like we might of ruffeled a few feathers! Smile

well, it's a bit better than that, as (if you read up a bit) we've ascertained that the medal races are planned to be held just off the Nothe rather than inside Portland or far out from the town beach (the other race areas)- which means that up Portland won't be a good spot for those races.
Edit: actually, this is even mentioned in passing in that press release.

So, still some tickets available in the second-chance sale- but to be honest, I'm quite surprised at how many of the sessions have sold out, and that the 49er Medal Race isn't among them
