Hi guys,
I've picked up a cheap old Splash for my girlfriend to sail, turns out it has a leaky mast step. If you fill it with water it drains out until there's about an inch in the bottom.
I've got a few idea for fixing it but can't find any details on how it's made, I'm assuming it is built the same as a Laser with the bottom of the mast step bonded to the inside of the hull, but does any one know if there's any areas round the mast with support beams or similar, that would stop me putting hatches in? Also am I right in thinking that Splashs are polyester constuction so repairing it with epoxy is a no-no?
