... we were started a minute behind the Phantoms ... at the end we still had a couple in front.

it looked a damn sight more comfortable than my phantom. although I finished in front of Mike most of that was down to the luck factor with the holes and zephyrs that you got lumped with. Very testing on your patience and knees. The icon looked very nice on Saturday and still looked fast on Sunday too and it would be nice to sail against it in normal conditions to see its true performance. Still not as quick as a certain baby blue k1 though....
Everything I say is my opinion, honest

We had a Phant open on the Sat and while trying to get round the course I also managed to watch the Icon, it was around F2-3 and it was without question planing upwind. Whether this is fast or not due to angles being sailed in it I don't know but it looked good. There were only 2 Phants that finished in front of the Icon in 7th. But as mentioned this was not a test of the Icon's or any boats true performance due to the shocking wind.

As for Simon in the K1 this is his boat and I think we are going to see rather alot of it, as for it being a bandit or such like not sure the other K1's did quite so well. I would put it down to Simon winning in most classes he sails, he won the open on Saturday with 2 firsts and is a very fast sailor although he did get he wooped in the 3rd race.

It has been said in the Beastie report on the Y&Y homepage that full results will be published on Wimbleballs website by Tuesday.

There were quite a few Tasars out but no Albs or N12's that I could see......... there were a couple of Merlins though!

I think the top 10 was something like this but I could be wrong.....

Actually I only know the top 7 ooops..........

I know Slow, I was only joking about the Bandit bit.  I hadn't realised the Old dog had bought a K1.  I thought he was looking to buy an Osprey...

I've just had a look at the full results. It's a good spread of classes in the top 10. One thing that struck me was that nothing overtook the Icon (or the leading Phantom and 200 for that matter), so it seems to have held it's own against the Merlins, fireballs and 400s in these light winds. I'm really pleased about that because I suspect it will go relatively better still in slightly stronger winds (where drag becomes more a function of weight than wetted surface area).
