Yep i use, CRC:
http://www.chainreactioncycles.com or wiggle: http://www.wiggle.co.uk or merlin cycles for wheels: http://www.merlincycles.co.uk or on-one: http://www.on-one.co.uk Depends what parts you are after Russ. If its brake pads for disc brakes for example then i use Superstars (4 sets for £20 instead of one if bought from a shop) http://superstar.tibolts.co.uk/index.php Sorry... you did ask.... Duncan, my 150mm travel full susser isn't a toy, that would do it an injustice.... Admittedly if I rode it round here I would be somewhat "overbiked" hence why I have the On-One. I did try singlespeed for a while too for the winter bike (James i'd be interested to know what you think after you've had it a while) but changed back as it was bloomin hard work on the flat/uphill and i couldnt go fast enough on the downs. The Enduro does get used whenever possible when we go elsewhere to some proper hills, and I reckon I make it work for its living! I managed to snap its predecessor, a Stumpjumper FSR. I'm not a pro rider by any stretch but do enjoy going down the hills I've worked so hard to get up as quickly as possible, sometimes too quickly! [/QUOTE] was not trying to wind you up, its just jealousy!!!!!!!!!! ![]() ![]() as i said, i own three bikes ( two road bikes, and a k.h.s mountain bike, but the thought of throwing myself down a big hill on any bike, however good, just fills me with fear!!!!!!!!!!!!! at my age, i donot bounce to well. ![]() |

Ha, no worries, I even succumbed and bought the most evil of all things, a road bike, last year. I used it a fair amount but havent been out on it for ages, other things seem to keep getting in the way. It is definitely my intention to get back on it (tomorrow of course) to try and gain some semblence of fitness again in time for the summer MTB season...
Anyone got any tips on how to lessen the dull seemingly endless monotony of riding a bike on the road? |

the drivers on my commuting route add plenty of "excitement"- as do the tits in town riding without lights/on and off the pavements/out of side roads without looking/flying through red lights/texting/hypnotized by their mp3 players.

Haha, was it that obvious even without the clue? The thing with having vastly more people cycling is that it means there's vastly more idiots cycling too. Then there's the pedestrians/joggers etc, who cheerfully walk out in front of you in the sort of way that they wouldn't do if you were a car because they'd be flattened. Never mind driving licences, I want people to have to sit a test to be allowed to step outside their front door. |
