All the hours over the last 14 months were worth it ....  We think it is fantastic.  The only problems identified  today were very minor - the worst being it needs a tad more non-slip in some areas.  But straight off the shore it was better than the development boats were after months of work last year - when fully sorted it will be a great boat .... now we would say that of course  so soon you will have to try as well.

The beer is flowing this evening ...

That main sail looks BIG in those pictures - well, tall, anyway - how did you find it was in terms of grunt needed? Are we talking Albacore size, or smaller?

Well I must say it looks a lot better than some of those other earlier attempts, not that I've been following it that closely and not that I have a blind bit of interest in anything without a big ballooney bit in the front. That said, I'm really pleased y'all are pleased and wish you the best of luck with it.

Anyone who has the balls to do the right thing and develop a new boat rather than take the chicken 'doo doo' route of warming over some has been junk pile and taking the Bandit trail to easy money appealing to some folks worse sporting nature, has to be applauded for his integrity and wished whole heartedly all the success that is due to him. Well done, hard work hopefully soon to be well rewarded.

It's going to make a really nice inland club boat (which is the big marketplace after all).

Hi

Thanks for +ve feedback ... Yes you have to be a bit determined to launch a new boat and ignore manty of  the usual suspects.

Still sober but maybe not later this evening!  The main is fractionally over 10m - ie less than we carry on the Blaze and the jib is approx 3.5m   So about a metre and a bit less than a RS400.  The rig is all carbon, light,  and the centre of effort is relatively low given the tallish mast.  This type of sailplan is however very very efficient and  given a low all up weight '001' was planing to windward relatively easily in the gusts in the 90 minutes test late afternoon today.  Pointing was excellent despite the fact all jib settings were simple guesswork at this stage.

The settings do need a bit of sorting plus all the usual tweaks but all very happy this over here at the moment.  Fast but manageable and all transittions were very clean.  Crew is already smitten with the 'dange' jib system and although I had reservations I'm now convinced as well.

Critical to sort out non-slip asap but this is not a major problem and we will be out again very soon.

Got to say I love it Mike, very nice. Wish the daughter would grow really quick so I can rope her into sailing one.
Everything I say is my opinion, honest

Well done Mike!
Great effort and it looks fantastic in the photo's.

How does it compare to 002 (and shouldn't this be 003?)
