Would like to see a coloured hull though, but that's personal preference.

Looks like it means business...not classically pretty, but an excellent case of form following function and looking great because of it. Look forward to seeing how it does against Albacores on small gravel pits!

Bit of Chew Valley mud will soon sort that out!  :-)

I agree though, like the 400's look better in two colours.

How does it roll tack? What sort of crew weight does it carry? how stable is the boat downhill and any idea whatg the RRP is going to be? I am going to buy a Graduate to sail with the girl this year and  i should be in the position in 2012 to buy a new boat (hopefully as well as the 505) to sail with her at the club, if she takes to it.

I just can't stand the whole thing about everyone having matching hulls so that you don't get caught OCS (there's an ethical discussion there somewhere...). It makes them all so bland.

Anyhoo, I presume the fellas can slap in any colour gelcoat you like!

I remember an NS that was red on one side, and white on the other, with the front 1.5m on either side painted the opposite colour. The theory was that the starter would think that the boat over the line was the one below you :)

As ever .... Thanks for all the interest.

Colour ....  It is only gelcoat !    We all have views but some alternative colours will be offered.  If you are willing to wait a bit longer then almost any colour can be used ... some might well require a significant deposit first though (We might want to make sure you took it when finished ;-)

Roll tacking - Icon does it rather well.

Prices ?  - You will have to wait until the Dinghy Show but we think you find them attractive.  A 'launch offer' will also be available for the first 3 in any club to order and will consist of a package including boat, sails,  top cover and trolley.

Suitability ? - in the eye of the beholder of course but it will carry weight well but can be depowered as necessary without  too much drama - so a wide weight range should be able ot compete.  It is perhaps not a novice’s boat but will not be too much for reasonable club sailors upwards.   The capable should be able to surprise themselves and others.  It is long and narrow on the water and light  but amazingly forgiving and once in the groove very sweet.

From the pics posted it looks as though the mast does not have any uppers. How will the top of the mast be controlled with respect to depowering (or powering up as the case may be)?

Eh? Uppers are only generally used to stop a masthead kite pulling the topmast off.
