So....

It has been a lot worse early on in the week, Coxswain was saying it had been frozen out to beyond "Club" which is the mark well out into the lake.

There is a decent on shore wind today which has piled most of it up against the shore. Plates of ice a good 30-40mm thick. Worst bit is the ice on the slips generally and the "ski jump" that has formed on the bottom on the waterline.

Apparently laucnhing and recovering safety boats is pretty hard work when you have to crawl down the jetty to the boat as standing up results in falling in.

They were talking of making a judgement on GGP on the Thursday based on forecast then.

BCYC (Cheddar) closed too. Haven't sailed there since September - as soon as we got enough water back in to sail, it froze!

Going to wander over to Grafham to have a look at lunchtime (only a couple of miles) it is above freezing according to the car this morning so should be "decaying" now presumably.

Think Haversham is still frozen.   They had to cancel the Supernova Xmas pud race there a couple of weeks ago.  Am supposed to be sailing there boxing day but not holding out much hope!
