I couldnt stop the little bleeder, no better explain, when I was on Warfarin for a clot on the heart(not a clot on the forum)I caught my ankle on something in a wooden Solo I had(a splinter?).
There was a pool of blood in the bottom. This in turn became an ulcer, which reared its ugly head again last year. Having written off  said Solo(& thanks Noble for a very speedy settlement and alowance to retain the salvage) I was trying to ignore it so to get the season's lack of sailing(through 3 stays in hospital as much as anything, albeit the day after one discharge, came out and sailed in our charity all on the water day persuit race before said Solo mishap). Still only managed to sail Slick Willey- my last wooden Fireball but the once, before actually seeking medical assistance for the stabbing throbbingly painfull ankle, eventually. So another curtailed year of sailing.
Having survived at least 2 severe cornaries over the last 14 years, I guess not only have most of one's boats been coffin dodgers so too has yours truly,(as GRF so succinctly puts it,) but with the exception of a pre sepositry shaped plastic sailing cruiser darn @ good ol Brightlingflea)my first boat an Adventurer, and a Tempo, everything else has been saved form Burnup wooden wonderfuls.
Regrettably pushing 19 stone again, having gotten it down to 17 via WW,  certainly fall into the fat b catagory in my stocking feet...
laid bare2 but pictures by request only... of the boats..and no Streakers

Splinters? Pools of Blood? Ulcers? Dead

Wooden Boats? Such fun, like I said once before, as much fun as standing naked in a metal bath tub in front of two lumps of coke and a match stick with 6 ft of snow on the ground outside.

And as for you WBL, you'll get a a 'hero of the soviet forum' medal for that post, they'll be along to congratulate you in their droves lead by Tubby Turtle another fugitive from the Phantom Class.

Still it's that time of year when there is at least some use for y'all wearing red and kiddy fiddling in department stores.. Wink
