Drome home from High Wycombe to Ricky last night and found out that my little "Cold" warning light on the dash turns off at -6 ... and I saw -9 on the way down the M40. Roads were clear, little snow on the trees/paths etc from the inch we had yesterday, but woke up this morning to about 3 inches, looks like about 5 or 6 now. Focus that just drove up the road was using its front bumper as a snowplough ... Looks like the drive to work Monday is gonna be fun :D |

Pity you couldn't have sailed among the heather on the bonnae slopes of Lochnagar, eh?

Anyone know whether the cold period is predicted to last into the new year, or will the BM be sailed in 14 degrees (C, that is!) and sunshine?
We now have 4 or 5 inches of snow in North Wilts.

Because only an unbalanced Scot would want to live in England? |

Nice one Jim. You've managed to insult the "ex-pat" Scots and all Englishmen in one short sentence!
But Al's failed to bite on my last remark. Maybe I should have waxed lyrical about the beautiful mountains of Fenland.

Scotland lacks jobs that I'm qualified for, would like to do and pay well enough. I'd be back in a heartbeat if I found a suitable job in Scotland. Not that England's a bad place, you understand.

Now we've got it I'm not sure I want it. Very pretty though.
A 4x4 would be really nice in this stuff, however where I do not want 4x4 is right up my chuff whilst I'm going as fast as I want to go - when I don't really want to be going anywhere - thank you very much. Now the car's are on the drive, everyone is where they should be (1 extra at our house) and the breathing of the Merlot will be by-passed. Edited by timeintheboat - 18 Dec 10 at 8:47pm |

Like some other things - sailing is more enjoyable when you do it with someone else

Swap "Scotland" for England or Britain, and "England" for Germany, and you have word for word what i used to say when in Deutschland/Nederland (not at all bad places). But there's simply no place like home.
Access to the club by car hardly possible, but we can park in the nearby farmyard and walk the last half km downhill, and as of this moment, neither the last race nor the Xmas meal cancelled. True British grit; I just have to walk along the beach
