I did say it was a point for discussion - perhaps I am old fashioned but I would expect an insurer to be more aware of the cost of replacement especially as when we got the "Eurotrax" we did up our trolley value considerably & probably stated it was a "Cat tracks / Eurotrax". With the house insurance we have listed items over a certain value under that value they will pay out.
Not that we are in the habit of making claims.

The insurer/broker sent you a renewal notice surely it is your responsibility to check that the values are correct.  Do you really expect the insurer/broker to offer renewal to you and than suggest the new cost of certain items. Come on get real. Be it my car, house or boat i make sure that the values on my documentation is correct. I would not expect anyone else to do this and i would also expect that the insure/broker would not want to do this in case those values are incorrect. 

I think that I must beg to differ with that point Nick, I use Noble Marine for my boat insurance primarily because they do seem to have a decent understanding of what they are insuring.......yes, I probably could get cheaper insurance but I'd rather pay a few quid more and feel confident that my insurance policy covers any potential losses (including trolley, road-base etc.)

I bet your renewal notice contained some fine print about making sure that the cover is still adequate...

Turns out we got the "Office Junior" who did not know what a bridle wire was !!!
Having now spoken to a much more senior person after fine reading policy booklet. We are covered... but it was agrro / hassle we could have done with out! 
I have always expected Insurance agents/brokers to look after their customers, rather feel customer service is lacking in this case.
Food for discussion....
As Cat trax / Euro trax have jumped in price so much, over the last few years, should our insurance agents/brokers have advised us to increase our cover?
After all it would have been more business for them.
I do remember in the distance past "Wendy House" issuing warning letters re theft of items / advice to secure boats etc.

I can understand them not paying the whole amount for you trolley but whats the excuse for not paying for the bridle wire.

Latest update - check your insurance. To replace our trolley is going to be £570 + .....we were under insured on our trolley (value £400 we thought )  excess (£100)..   Now Insurance will not pay out to replace the "hack sawed" through rigging.
We think we will be shopping around when it comes to renewal & checking the small print !
Any suggestions for insurance companies?

Just think everyone else ought to be very careful with their kit ... padlock your launching trolley to the road trailer especially if it's a Eurotrax !!
Wonder how many other people have had theirs stolen?  There's not a lot they can be used for as the tyres will only take 5 PSI. Also in the axle the "ballbearings" are only plastic so cannot cope with high speeds.
Meanwhile it's all a very real pain and an added expense at a time when life is expensive enough!
 
Eurotrax wheels are also used on kite buggies, they fit sealed stainless bearings inside those black plastic tophat things so they can cope with 60mph speeds. I am sure a kite buggier wont have nicked them but worth searching for kite buggy wheels on ebay.
