Angry
Somewhere,     out there,      there is a thief!!
We know because we have just had our launching trolley stolen - it was padlocked to the boat so they cut the bridle wire!!  Luckily the mast didn't come down.    Great Christmas present .. I think not!!

We now discover that our Eurotrax were top of the range £517 ...to replace.  ( Knobbley wheels !! )

I am livid & would like to do horrible things to the thief !!

Please could you keep your eyes open for the appearance of this trolley at your club it has small splits on each cup and our sail No 365 written on it!!

We should not tolerate thieves in our community as it affects all of us through increased insurance premiums!!

If the thief reads this & regrets his actions please could he return our trolley !!!

It was for a Hurricane 5.9 .. but as it was the shallow cups it would "suit" several cats. I do have a photo that I could post ...Flickr might be best.
I'm hoping that the power of the web might deter future thefts!!

Also in what part of the country are you in because in this weather I do not think they traveled very far to steal them.

We are based at Datchet (DWSC) ... close to M25 / M4.  Club has barrier system & cctv ... so it suggests one of our fraternity .. some one who would not look out of place in a dinghy park / chandlers / sailing club.

That is serious as it suggests theft by a fellow cat sailor or could the trolley or wheels be used for anything else? At Glossop Sailing Club road bases were stolen to make trailers for off road bikes for instance? My boat was burnt by vandals who obviously knew nothing of sailing irritating but understandable in the modern world, if you understand. The replacement for this boat is coming from Datchet and itself had its rig stolen recently. Is there a trend at Datchet?

Actually I was thinking of taking their ****** off but doing it Egyptian style  ... via the nostrils!! I;ve got a long knitting needle that I could ducktape to a crochet hook!!
Just think everyone else ought to be very careful with their kit ... padlock your launching trolley to the road trailer especially if it's a Eurotrax !!
Wonder how many other people have had theirs stolen?  There's not a lot they can be used for as the tyres will only take 5 PSI. Also in the axle the "ballbearings" are only plastic so cannot cope with high speeds.
Meanwhile it's all a very real pain and an added expense at a time when life is expensive enough!

I doubt it - more some pikeys from slough, go knows what they'll use it for, but it's a pretty prime spot for theft - my crew had her car broken into and phone/handbag/waller/laptop stolen when going sailing one weekend - and whilst we were rigging up (on the lower level)

So who is soft enough to this cat sailors cannot possibly be thieves - if they have had it away for their boat i think it will find its way into ebay. If you find it is a Datchet sailor can I suggest a naked safety boat duty in January as the penalty.
