About 3 inches here - Longleat - and didn't want to risk car on hills in lanes so walked to work which took nearly 2 hours. Tried for a taxi from main road but they said they'd nothing for an hour and the morning bus goes a different way in snow! Main roads OK but lanes are snowy and very slippery.

Just trudge through the snow on the jetty, brush the stuff off the decks and off you go for some j-j-jolly cruiser sailing
.
  Note how the tide has melted the snow on the banks, but that the salty beach above (neaps at present) didn't inhibit the snow laying.
