Olly you really don't want to go on the snake pass in weather like this! Be thankful you were diverted. It usually gets closed at the slightest hint of ice. For those that don't know it, think in terms of the road at the end of the original Italian Job.

No snow here in Bristol, but the locals are so inept at driving that 20mph is fast! and roundabouts only work if there is a traffic light to tell you when you can go! I think its an automatic response to the ice warning light appearing on the dashboard. Took over an hour to drive the 7miles to work this morning because one lane of the A38 was closed!!!!!! for 20ft near the entrance to work.

had to laugh at the England world cup bid when they started banging on about our "world class" transportation system..... not looking to "world class" today so far, but perhaps it's a game of two halves and the boys (and gals) will do better in the 2nd half <of this snow>

Been snowing in Coventry pretty much constantly for 2 days now, but absolutely none of it is staying on the ground for some strange reason. Which seems odd as it hasnt been above 0 since Saturday by my reckoning (and a crappy car thermometer thing) and the ground seems to pretty much consist of just ice at the moment.

Some kids over the road are building a snowperson & it is snowing hard again.

Am I the only one who thinks there's something a bit bizarre going on there..

I bet he's naked and he's just minimised the 'other' window..
