East Grinstead........ Shed loads of snow and it's still coming.
Been snowing for about 18 hours non stop.
Very pretty and good fun..... so far. What little gritting that was done had no effect what-so-ever |

6 inches in Sleaford, Lincolnshire. Had snow since Friday night. Has been snowing most of the day today.
Lincoln came to a stand still last night and I think the 4 day Christmas market which is one of the biggest in Europe has been canceled.
Primary schools closed but secondary open. I am self empolyed so I have been working.

Where I live we've had about 4 inches over 2 days, but the problem now is the ice that is covering the roads and pavements.
My journeys to and from school have been interesting to say the least... They haven't closed the school though. There were 20 of us in my year group today because no one could be bothered to face the awful conditions, so we did absolutely nothing all day. Waste of time... Paper round has been an utter bitch too.

A large number of "for sale" boards have gone missing as the kids get creative to make a sledge I wonder what boat would make the best sledge, something flat arsed with hard chines to keep it on track I reckon. Edited by GK.LaserII - 01 Dec 10 at 4:43pm |

In Shropshire we've had snow on the ground since Saturday and it's not got above freezing since then. Yesterday's and today's showers have been blown into drifts by the east wind and the local gravel pits are frozen solid. Looks like next week before it warms up here.
Off on Friday so I can go sledging or skiing.

There are probably places in Svalbard that feel warmer than Grafham on a day like today. It squaeaked up above freezing mid morning but you onyl have to go as far as Grantham on the A1 and I think it gets rather lumpy again.

But what's the betting that the air temperature at Grafham still felt 5 degrees lower than in the places that did have 4 inches of snow... |

Fine covering in patches here in Chobham/Woking Surrey. Not enough to cause a problem apart from the underlying ice.
As we are told snow is covering the country, it doesn't seem quite true looking at this forum sample. |

No snow in Reading or Oxfordshire. Small lakes down by Dorchester (nr. Abingdon) are starting to freeze over quite significantly. Guessing they wont be sailing till this freeze is over. @simonrh - thanks for that post. I'm headed in that direction in the next two hours.

West of Swindon just a 1/2 inch or so, schools open, but slippy where yesterday's snow froze overnight. Sunday is looking better for boats here, too...
