Although it was blowing old-boots last year, the year before it was a really good weekend's racing, and there aren't many other options for us to sail the 12 between now and January (when it's too blood cold anyway).

You can still come and race there.
We're hoping to fit some racing in over  the cold spell.

day sailing rates at Grafham are ruinous though- £27 for a double hander?

Don't you have a friend up there who'll sign you in? You only pay for the boat then Wink

Another one for the diaries. We have just confirmed that we will be holding a bit of an end of season bash at Draycote if anyone fancies coming along. Details below.

Date confirmed as Nov 20th/21st for the event called the Draycote Dash.

Format will be:

Saturday - lots and lots of short handicap races 1st start not before 11am, briefing at 10:30am.

Sunday - 1 Handicap race and 1 double point pursuit race.

All boats are welcome, although unfortunately we do have a prehistoric no twin trapeze cat rule on the lake. Racing will be average lap handicap (except the pursuit) with courses that are designed to suit all classes.

Please feel free to spread the word among your fleets and classes.

For further info contact Richard LeMare at richard.lemare (at) talk21.com or myself through here via pm.

Hope you can make it - this years will be pretty informal to see if its a success and whether the demand is there for us to turn it into one of the big winter open events in the future, so please come along and support us. More info to follow.

As many of you may be aware DWSC are organising an end of season handicap open meeting called the Draycote Dash. This is to be an event for all types of boat over a variety of courses, for everyone to enjoy.

Event date is 20-21st November.

There will be food available on Saturday evening, and we are hoping to keep the bar open late.

As a trial we are using a partner website called Sailracer who have created an event website which will allow pre-entry and will have any documents required such as NOR and eventually SI's and such like. You are also able to book the evening meal during the registration process. Booking this in advance will save you some money too!

The event website can be found here:

http://www.sailracer.org/events/event-v2.asp?eventid=67093

Please do book early as if there is not enough interest we will have to cancel. I'd ask club members wanting to do both days to pre-enter also.

Please feel free to advertise this around your classes.

Any questions feel free to contact myself or Richard LeMare (Inland Sea username on y&y forum).
