my crew whinges ALOT about small kite and jib sheets. even though the
loads arent that high. we use 8mm rope for both, its bloody embarrassing but i cant afford to lose my crew so just get on with it. we use some kind of marlow taper sheet. no idea on price, dont pay for it, but its very impressive. it basically tapers twice, firstly down to 6mm then down to 4mm dyneema. its basically excel racing with another sheave. so we have the main body of the rope in the boat at 8mm which is good to handle and then the durable 6mm through the block, tapering to 4mm for the final 3 feet. |
