Chew Valley uses locally adjusted PYs. The intention is to adjust for the speed of boats on our water only, and not to set personal handicaps. We sail on a large lake.
Interesting to see the different interpretations of the size of a club. I can see how the type of sailing water can affect the performance of different classes but I doubt that the number of members is significant.

Just thought i'd pop this thread back to the top. Interesting to see a fairly even split of clubs adjusting and those that arent. Of course thats only from ones that people have answered for and some may have answered twice but it seems some are altering to suit their local waters.
