Has anyone got a diagram of the rigging for a spinnaker?

Thanks

That's only the flyaway system, admittedly most of the top boats have it for the cool factor, tisn't really necessary though.

Splosh, the old style fibreglass ones may look ok but they're not as strong/stiff as wooden ones.  Can't say the same for the new Mk 4 though, those are a completely different construction.  But you can't say that a plastic/glass boat looks nicer than a well looked after wooden boat! Most of the top boats are wooden too.  They also last/stay stiffer longer.

Very good piece on rigging the pole on the class website:

My 6 year old can manage the kite on a gentle day, and my 9 year old loves it when it's blowing old boots.

the young 'uns at our club tend to go: topper/mirror - 420 - skiff (of some
sort. and please nobody have go at me for saying skiff)
or in my case: topper - vortex was quite a big jump.

Actuakky the spinnaker is nearly as big as the main, (shouldn't be admitting that!) and is quite a handful in a blow... specially for young 'uns

our club was given a relatively new mirror to use for training after holding the nationals at our club this year. they look really nice boats. i just personally wouldnt like to sail one as the look quite small. it does really well on handicap in light winds though.....

lol - many at our club have many rotton green holes in them (and will never hit the water again) but i never noticed a shute. ...tbh its a shame to see boats falling apart like that tho!

they are commonly known as teatowls
