all it needs is just a couple of washers behind the bolt heads that hold the spreader bracket on to the mast, and don't tighten the bolts too much (or too little).

Yes I'd kind of figured that out for myself...

Maybe nylon would slide more easily, and silicon spray.

I actually thought the whole rig update was very easy to fit. Instructions were concise and even provided a paper template for where to drill. Bit more strength at the mast inserts now.

haven't got roung to putting glass drill to mast yet  (need to borrow a rivet gun)  - was it straightforward?

very easy. I was amazed how well the drill bit worked - a really clean cut then popped the rivets in and kerplunk!

The paper template made sure they went in the right place aswell and a couple of adhesive backed plastic protectors were thrown in aswell to stop chafing at rotation points.

cheers Keith - I'll give it ago.  Btw found out that the 100 is ~ the same speed RTC as a wayfarer if you capsize it once each lap like I did on Friday lol:-)
