Scottish Championships - RS100 - October?

see http://www.rs100sailing.com/

Just in case someone's not reading the RS100 site, the Scottish contingent is planning on setting up a Scottish Champs. Who would be prepared to travel. It'll be a great event, with I'm sure some good social.

Does anyone else not agree, that the term 'World Championship' gets banded about just a tad too much?

I liken it to the 'World Series' (Baseball), where there's pretty much only the USA and two other countries involved. Surely what constitutes a 'World Championship' to actually be one?

Honest question.

thing is, with sailing, that "World Championship" is a restricted term, with specific conditions a class must meet to be able to hold one (whilst "World Series" is merely American bluster- and not named after a newspaper as many will have you believe)

Anybody had this issue? 15kts of wind in the Solent, wind over tide, flat out with the kite up and a huge amount of aerated water coming in through the centreboard cassette, can't be fast, any ideas? the slot gasket appears ok.

They had that problem with the early prototypes but it was
fixed...

Mine never had that problem and I had been out in some
pretty extreme wind?

Was the board right down? as I believe the gasket is now
shaped to fit slightly... but I may be wrong.

I had this problem with the test boat, but the gasket was knackered!

What I dont understand is why they dont just fill in the gap with a removable chock that is attached to the boat by a lenght of rope, sort of like a big plug that just fills the hole behind the board.  This could be made of a soft material to allow it to wedge in nicely and then if the boat did kick up in a grounding this would just be pushed out the way by the board as it lifted...  Dont really see any reason for this not to work?

Those in glass houses and all!!! (Sailing a Phantom) but if its the first race you have won in 8 years Jimbo, either you have had some serious time in the boat and got very quick, south cerney is full of poor sailors (i deffinately know its not) or your new ship has proved to be a new bandit steed!!

I like to think its the first.
