what a great acheivement, Designer of RS100

Hey if the model is still kicking around would it not be a great National Championship tropy? Maybe a bit big to get in the bar boot on the way home?

I found the 100  when i tried it too easy to sail and forgiving for me.The bow lift when the kite went up was quite shocking i would be very surprised if there was many pitch poles with tacking might be the only issue if the wind catches under the wings just like the 300 really in some ways.

As for handicap i think it depends on where you sail and what courses your club runs as you have to rememeber the vareo handicap is 1050 for going round the cans not  the 1038 we use for upwind downwind courses

Dont get me wrong the 100 is a great boat but as its not everyones cup of tea me i like my vareo too much i like the pain of hiking if i did not i would buy a 700 or a musto skiff and join whitstable and sail against rick !!!!!!!!!!!!

But when you have 9 boats of the same class in you club you at least have a good race whatever the weather.

[QUOTE=Rockhopper]One reason why i did not order a 100  it was too forgiving for me i would much rather be balls out on my ear when things go wrong which they have done just look at the vareo nationals 2007 i went for the lead with the kite overtook nick and wiped out so greatly that it took me nearly seven minutes to get the damm thing back up god i was knacked at the end of that race.[/QUOTE

Yeh - thats why I wouldnt buy a 14 - prefer the Bosun

I really must get Rockhopper over to Hythe to show me how "Easy"
the 100 is, it's ok in light to mid winds but not so easy when it's puffy,
not with that big rag up anyway.

I moved those foot loop things as far outboard as is possible and find
myself fiddling with the adjustment a fair bit, yes it's comfortable
enough, but it's not your legs where the pain is, is it?

It is just a shame that at the first Gul sponsored event he will be required to stick a Gul sticker over the name!!
