Can anyone tell me if there is an active web-site that
encourages support and debate around this superb craft?

I have tried to Google various strings relating to the K6
but always come up against the same out of date stuff...

links please?

Have you tried the RS website?

http://www.rs-association.com/index.asp?fleet=K6

Its not officially an RS built boat now I believe the class
is still administrated by the RS class association

Hi Neptune,

Yes, II have seen this site; all a bit private,. guarded and tends not to encourage outside influences or comment/debate about the boat....part of the appeal and sucess of the SB3 was that they have a lively forum and welcoming web site....

So come on K6 owners get chatting on Y&Y your site is probably stiffiling growth and development

Does the K6 not have a yahoo group forum...I think all the
other RS classes do?

AFAIK there is not. I looked seriously into buying one a couple of years ago and the fairly ancient RS site was all that existed at that time. IIRC there was also a Yahoo group but more or less inactive. It is a lovely boat but at least at that time, I felt it was less active as a class in the UK than I was looking for. There are however some active club fleets which might help you e.g. Itchenor.

I had heard from a friend who is a K6 owner that RS have dropped the K6 - don't know if that's true. If it is that isn't necessarily a bad thing - usually a boat builder steps in to provide support and as if by magic without RS, sails will become cheaper. I have crewed for him on occasions, for the crew it's a painful hike upwind in breeze but downhill is fun!

No active class association? Brys, I sense an opening for you!

As with the Projection.....a virtual association of folk
with an interest in the boat can have a forum here....

I believe that you can still buy a K6 from RS, and Rondar
who are the original/ only builders have now taken the
class over - the RS association still manages the circuit
events though IIRC

Absoluty correct. Rondar still manufacture & sell the boat.

Prehaps not as proactively as RS did in the past but at a considerably lower price!

I am a little saddened that the current 100+ owners have not joined in this thread as yet, are they shy or just apathetic about their class?
