According to the Byte website membership is 20 quid, not bad. The first race at opens is usually not earlier than 11 am.
but get there at 9.30 to 10 then you will have time to settle down and prepare.

Hi Zailor, just turn up but they will probably make you join the class association unless you join first of course. We wil be there with my boy sailing my boat and a multiple inlands winner. See you there.

Yep the Byte is not sailed as a youth boat in the UK.  In fact most of the sailors are well over 18!  There is a youth prize and a newcomer prize at the nationals!
I might be sailing it, but it's still sh**e!

Now that is an offer hard to refuse!

My good folks love an excuse to get away so it will be a family affair with me sailing and good old mam and dad (suport team) taking in the local scenes!

So long as I can race with the grown ups thats fine :)

Sorry but at 18 you are a grown up! There may be a trophy for under 18 or even 21 but since the Byte world champ, Darren Choy is only 16 or 17 it seems unlikely. We personally will commute as it is not that far but I am sure camping is available at Burton. Do you drive or will you need to blag a lift? Come on, go to Burton I'll buy you a drink.

I'm in West Wales, Ceredigion area.

Either way they are all about 4 hours drive up to all the vents.
Very tempted by Burton and the Nationals so I'm looking into somewhere to stay.
I am guessing all those events are open ages and not just youth?
I'm 18 and 19 by the Nationals, not sure if that's still "yoof"

Hi Zailor. I have no idea where you live but the Byte Inlands is on June 12th at Burton Sailing Club. Burton is a big open reservoir on the Derbyshire/ Leicestershire border, near the M1. I will be there as a spectator as my son will be sailing my boat. A friend will be sailing as well. Perhaps this would be a better introduction to open racing?
