So does that mean you're coming then Tim?

Great, will you need a launch crane?

How many does it take to lift a D1?

Would 20 do it?

which will
need adjusting, although being higher up puts more pressure between
the
clew and the boom end, also keeping the leech tight.

Graeme. I was thinking the 8.4 would be fixed as normal at boom level
but the sail head would be short of the mast head by the height of the
stump.

Couple of other tweaks that I have now remembered:

* Pro-grip on the cockpit side walls makes a big difference. I had a
couple of nasty falls (including falling out of boat to leeward !) because
this is so slippery - nice gelcoat polishing job though !

* The trolley could do with some protection to the inside of the gunwhale
hanging brackets - makes a very nasty mess of the gelcoat if one side
inadvertently slips off the bracket while recovering in any sort of waves.

* Its not a criticism at all but the boat actually looks visually quicker than
it is !. The OOD at our club came over to ask me if I was sure I new the
course because "looks like you will be the leading boat" - I don't think he
knew then that I would actually be in the medium handicap fleet starting
5 minutes after the 600's, MPS' etc. ! Great job on the styling !

I totally agree with your comments about the customer service from RS.
The whole thing has been first class and very enjoyable.
Not now Kato (you fewl) !

Well I didn't want to set it too low thinking the bend curve would be all
wrong, since they appear to have adopted windsurf style bend curves, or
at least I think they have, difficult to tell with that elasticated wrinkly luff.

My next move would have been to lengthen that clew strop which does so
much to tighten the leech and to lengthen the kicker lines.

Agreed also shiny side bit I've also slipped and gone in, I was going to
use some surf style traction, my swarovski crystal stomp studs not having
yet arrived. Can't make my mind up yet between Andy and Bruce irons
model style..

Yes agreed it is much slower than it appears, well upwind at least, offwind
it rocks, I'm wondering gybing centreboard already..

This deserves a 6 month ban from this forum for being cruel to a brand new boat. What was that 2nd or 3rd time out.

Utter disgrace

What's the re-sale value of that boat likely to be?
