It would be useful for all and I guess for RS if we could perhaps
concentrate tuning experience in one area. Either on the facebook group
or perhaps a separate thread here. The rig is different to that which many
of the owners will have sailed and getting the right settings is
'interesting' at this point in time.

Each setting should include wind strength, shroud pin position, mast ram,
outhaul, cunningham and mast sheet estimates.

After two outings I suspect that on this rig the outhaul probably has a
favoured setting and does not benefit from much adjustment.

With enough feedback we can then hopefully get a reasonably sound
Light/medium/heavy guide posted on the association website.

What do you think?

Simon,

Personally I think that would be a great idea. There are enough people
sailing now to start getting a range of input.

I also think it would be VERY useful for Nick Peters and Mike Lennon,
given the amount of time they have spent in the boat and their vast pool
of knowledge both of their design intentions and their findings, to make a
significant contribution to this.

Looking back at the photos of the first day I sailed the boat (3 weeks ago
now I think) I laugh at how I had it set up (no cunningham, not much
kicker, slack shrouds, no rake etc.) and the total caning it gave me ! All
feels much sweeter now but as I am sailing on my own (Billy no mates) I
could of course be totally wrong !
Not now Kato (you fewl) !

Upwind pic. Got some better pics last nite, so you can all critique the sail shape. Settings that I can remember are shrouds 3 holes from top. Mast 3/4 way back in gate. Fair lump of kicker. Wind 10mph. We need common calibration points to do better re swapping settings. Re kicker could be relative to frankenstein or to bottom of luff track. Have placed selection of other pictures on www.fotoboat.com , any comments welcome on the pics or the tuning.

Agree and think that now we've interrogated the 300 sailors for info,  this stuff should really be elsewhere (It must be dull for most non-RS100 sailors). It might be best on the Facebook group for now and ultimately on a class (members only maybe) website / discussion group.
