The sail size number on the rear of the sail is not on mine "129",
which was picked up same days as GRF's

Yes, there is a sticker on each sail to identify the size, they told me I had
to have it. (naturally I would have switched them)

Yes there was loads of downhaul, I'm a windsurfer we always bung loads
of downhaul on.

That pick was me coming in I think, my frikking back was killing me and
tbh I didn't really care what was going on, but the kite knots v patches
had to be adjusted so it goes all the way in.

I don't like that 'pre' shackle it to the bottom then hoist it and I don't like
that cleat right at the top of the mast which I forgot to undo on the beach
on sunday and put the boat on the trailer with the main still up - doh.

I'd like an adjustable outhaul routed back to somewhere I can fiddle with
it upwind and down a la windsurf and I'd like the foot of the sail free-er.

I don't like the way a power generating area like the foot is all scrunched
up, it just wont do, but all things to look at in the future, so far I'm still
just enjoying the experience, it is such a lovely boat to sail.

Neal the 300 has an elastic bolt rope and they wear out befor you need to get them loosened! I think it may have something to do with the different matrials used in the sail (there are 3) its not really an issue for me but seems to be what the rest of the 300 boys use ad well

GRF, I really like the mast head cleat, so do pretty much everyone else that
has looked at mine !

The advantages as I see it are that only a very short section of halyard is
under tension, minimising stretch, the mast is not in compression from the
halyard and the halyard tension is not changing as the mast flexes. I have
also found It is also very easy to cleat / uncleat.

All in all pretty good I reckon !

But a bit of kicker and cunnimgham will remove the scrunchedupness at the foot of the sail

not sure what the manual says, but I hoist fully, then
crank on cunningham
to get the tack down to the eye to put the shackle
through.... otherwise I
can't get the head all the way up the mast.

I shackle and hoist and it works well. The last six
inches needs a good yank to tension effectively but it
all works fine.

Well each to his own, but so far it's the only bit I've struggled with, but now I
know to do it on the beach, it's no big deal, but I'd hate to be in a situation
of having to dump the main at sea.

Hmm I 'spose I could just capsize it and do it in the water..

No, it's not that big of a deal..

Anyone manage to get that foot strop all the way round the mast?

IMHO that doesn't feel right

You have just put your cunningham on the amount extra the sail needs to be hoisted ... this will bring the draught forward and open the leach ... not good!

I would suggest stringso you can get the sail all the way up and then set the sail with the controls as Russ says

GRF - don't think I have got one of those (presume you mean some sort of
strap like is used on the foot windsurf sails ?).

Yep, like a windsurf sail foot strap, loose bit of webbing with ladderlock
attachment.

Has something printed on it like..

Speedboost only issued to special customers..

This is the 8.4 sail don't forget, am I the only one using it?

Edit, and no it's not the clew strap which I know about, got one on the
Blaze, which reminds me, what's everyone doing about the outhaul
arrangement, we can't be having to undo and tie knots threading that
string through that little hole all the time are we?
