There is a lot of bow out of the water - are you sitting
too far back?

I've got a similar picture, I had just let off all the
controls and was now reaching for the rudder as i was
coming in.

I noticed your sail seems to have a label in the corner with the 8,4 sail size.

Is this now standard on new boats as my sail does not have this?

Cheers,

Keith.

Fwiw jimbo I use a shakle on a new sail and as the sail ages switch to string. I find on an old sail attaching it via a shakle means the luff is a bit tight.(funny verticle ceases)
I don't have an old sail on my curent boat so I shakle it on.

Not really sure about any performance difference! But like to control the sail with the controls!

Pleased to see everybody is suitably attired in matching black / grey -
nothing vain
about our RS100 fleet then !!

By the way my gear is the same to - together with TT we could be clones.
What a thought !

On the cunningham, yes, I have found that there is some preset as a
result of the halyard tension. Doesn't seem to be an issue in sailing mode
as I seem to be using a reasonable bit of cunningham in conjunction with
the kicker (removing starvation creases) all the time. Even in the very
light to me the sail seems to prefer a degree of flattening off.

I would really like a rudder lift line (to complement the centreboard
system and the rudder lowering line). There is a lot of weed where we sail
(yes Ok not that sort of 'weed') and often need to lift the rudder to clear it,
which is tricky with the supplied arrangement. Also a friend who tried the
boat at the weekend simply couldn't lift the rudder blade in time coming
into the slipway - at least it helped stop the boat !
