I think as far as boat handling goes it is very different doing it in a massive multihull to doing it in any other type of boat, esp with things like wing sails.  I think both the Alighi and BOR crew know exactly what they're doing, but in boats like that it's all about straightline speed and a total sacrifice of maouverability.

The races were always going to result in a drag race.  The length of the legs (20nm) and the boats being used made sure of that.  It would have made no diff if it'd been a best of 10 regatta, unless the BOR rig came down there was no way they were going to loose - they were just to fast.

Given BOR's performance in previous traditional AC regattas I doubt the cup will stay with them for long though (unless they can find some means of bending the rules in their favour)
