It seems that the guys back in Poland have been really going for it over Christmas and the New year to get the new D-One deck ready and here's where they are at.  I am hoping to have more photos soon.

Just when I think this must be a bloke boat I go to the website and there's a French (?) girl having a fab time in one!  What height and weight is she Rodders?  I couldn't hear the commentary because vista has stuffed the sound on my laptop.
the same, but different...

She is very French, her name is Manon Borsi. about 5' 8" and 75 Kgs.  She was testing the D-One at Torbole for the leading French sailing magazine, Voiles et Voiliers and gave a glowing report.  You need to get the sound back - well worth hearing     How's your Francais?

A bit shorter and lighter than me then - and it didn't look hugely windy.  I will listen on the desk top; my Francais is probably good enough for me to get the gist of it.  Well done to her too.  I wonder if she'd like a contender for the Euros in La Rochelle?

Lighter people are doing well in the D-One.  It seems that the weight equalisation is working well.  Of course the big guys have the power to windward in a big breeze and waves but the lighter helms get it all back, and more, downwind.  I hope to get down to 80 Kgs for sailing the D-One even though the equalisation break point is 86 Kgs.  The winner of the first ever D-One event at Torbole is 78 Kgs.

Even I could be tempted into a Contender for the Euros if it's at La Rochelle.  It's a great venue and on my favorites list even though I ripped my knee apart whilst sailing there there in '96.

Is the new deck to be retrofitted to all those who have just had their new one design boats delivered?  I'd be right miffed if I had bought one and they you went and changed it - even if its only aethetics and its second hand value will fall much faster.

going back a couple of pages explains the new deck, you can now choose between the two it seems

I was a bit concerned but of the orders in hand about 40% want the traditional shape and only 60% want to switch so, from that, I can only conclude that the value will stand firm.  We will continue to offer both options in the future. Meanwhile we will be talking to existing customers, when they can see one in real life, to discuss the possibilities if they want to convert to the new deck design.

We have always had a great relationship with all of our customers and I can assure all that no-one will be disappointed.

The first one was a stage of the development and the 2nd is the latest version after 2 weeks of further work to enhance the aesthetics (less curves and more straight lines and angles) - I think this is probably the final design.  I hope that it will be fitted to a hull soon so watch this space for a picture.
