I have taken the old carpet off my trolley cradle.

Anyone got a better suggestion than astroturf type matting to protect the foam padding and keep the trolley from holding water against the paint?

The sort of rubber matting that has long "fingers" is supposed to be good.

I think Jim means like astro style door matting.  You should be able to pick this up from DIY stores

yes, you can get branded astroturf doormats for around £4.99, or £5.99 if you go for green ( ), or the imititation ones for about £3.99.  I have mostly found them in 'pound' shops and garden centres, though the latter are way more expensive.  I am about to make up two cradles, once the weather stops freezing...

Sovereign trailer do a spiky cradle, you can just make it out in the pic below. I think the bristles will be longer than astroturf.

I've used the dual density blue foam from the kids snapped boogie board.
Sawn into strips and gaffer tapped on at the edges..and recessed bolted
through..

I have a roll of Flotex kitchen carpets that doesn't absorb water ......Do you think that would work ?
