Hi all, i have got a RS600 angel mast with a worn mast track near were the track ends at the bottom of the mast, so getting the boltrope to stay in the track whilst raising the main is a pain in the backside. Anyone know of a way to either build it up again or sort it out? Thanks George P.S. mast track is not replaceable and is built on the mast out of carbon. Edited by 600sailor670 |

More carbon! What often happens too is that the base of the track splits and so the two sides will force apart more easily.
Make a former out of cardboard and Parcel tape and put it in the track so that you can't get glue and fibre where you shouldn't, and build several layers of carbon over the bottom inch of the track. |

Don't go adding stuff to it!!! You can remove the whole/bits of the track off easilly. Buy a new track from LDC its about £8 a metre! If the old track is carbon, LDC supply you with a metal track and special glue which you can easilly join the metal one to carbon one with. To join them is easy leave about 1/2mm gap and fill with arraldide/epoxy, Then rap some daul (round wood thingy I've done this about 2 months back and its all working fine. And it only cost me £30 to replace 3m of track!! It doesnt take too long about 1 week for me to be back on the water! Its definatly worth taking time over it and doing it properly insead of a rushed messy job!
